The city is constructing a road map for purchase and marketing of bulk foodstuffs, keeping track of foods, regulate the control of foods supply, increase the transparency of food safety and exercise risk control at supply origins.
As early as 2007, Ningbo took the lead to track the supply and sales of four categories of foodstuffs. Since then, Ningbo has completed the investigation and analysis of supply and marketing of beef, poultry, eggs, edible oil, rice, and dairy products.
The road map includes information of product item, quantity, origin, supplier, transport routes, sales channels, etc. A computer network has been set up to enable sharing of data and real-time update.
